Hi!

I'm looking for an improvement to my living room practice equipment. I'm using a VHT Special 6 Ultra (5W), usually on the clean input with next to no preamp distortion but quite a bit of 6V6 breakup. I'm into bluesy rock tones, think of Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, the older Black Keys stuff, Gary Clarke jr, etc. and usually play my tele or Gretsch Electromatic (soon going in the Epi Casino direction).

Right now I'm using a 12" oben back cab with a WGS Veteran 10 and a 12" oben pack cab with a Jensen C12R (originally a Greenback). Most of the time I use only one of them, sometimes I use both. As you may guess, I'm looking for some rather quiet speakers. Though both speakers have pretty much the same spl rating the Vet 10 is noticeably louder than the Jensen or maybe just more efficient on low power. I like the overall sound and characteristic of both but I'm always seeking for improvement.

I'm not sure in which direction to go next. Should I give a brit voiced speaker a try (the Greenback was just okay) or maybe the G12Q which reads interesting but I'm not sure how loud it is and how it sounds with some distortion.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :-)
