Let me start off by saying that I absolutely love my ET65 speakers, I have both yours and the weber clones and find the WGS to be far superior in tone. That being said I have them in a 4x12 cabinet and I also have a matching 2x15 cabinet but I can't find any speakers that match these well at all. most available options are either too low wattage or way too much. So my main question is do you guys have plans on expanding your 15" options? I know alot of guys who use them and most of them run into similar issues as me, the only thing close I've found is one or two jensens and their tone is near unusable IMO. What I'm really looking for is a 125-150 watt 15" with big low end and smooth top end to match with the awesome mid range of the ET65's, and also with a similar sensitivity. So that way I can have a 260w 4x12 and a 250w 2x15 and if they have similar sensitivities then I know that they will be fairly close in volume which is my main issue. If the speakers in the 2x15 are lower wattage (say 100w a piece) then I notice the 2x15 gets louder quicker then the 4x12, and if I use higher wattage speakers (say 500w multi use speakers) they have full low end but are much quieter then the 4x12. This is a product that could potentially fill a very large void in the speaker community right now so I thought I'd see if you guys could fill the bill.
The 15 I personally have been requesting is a G15 with a SMOOTH CONE and an aluminum dust cap! You know ... like a JBL D130F!
Don't know if it'll ever happen ... 15's are just to rarely used ... but I'll keep asking :-)
A ceramic G15 with a smooth cone and aluminum dust cap that was 125watts would be fine by me! I know a bunch of guys who use 15's in the doom / sludge community and have been looking for a better 15" selection. most of them end up using big bens which are 225w a piece or sourcing vintage JBL's, you'd need a 4x12 with 115w speakers in it to get a similar response out a 2x15 loaded with big bens. And then your looking at two 450w cabs being powered by a 100-120w head which IMO isn't very efficient.
