Hi,

I'm sorry if this has already been asked but I have a blues junior III with a P12R Jensen and am looking for a replacement speaker that accomplishes the following:

- Good head clean headroom

- Balanced musical tone - no booming bass, no honky mids, no ice-pick highs

- Covers both Fender and Vintage Marshall tones well

- Works well with Strats, Teles, Les Pauls and 335's

- Works well with overdrive pedals: Maxon 808, Carl Martin Plexitone (single channel)

My favourite tones are: Clapton (all eras), Hendrix, BB King, SRV, Mayer, Matt Schofield, Bonamassa, Gary Moore, Robben Ford etc.

I see you guys like the ET65 and the Reaper / Reaper HP... but which do think would be best for me given the above?

Cheers !!

Thanks.

I watched your shoot out videos on youtube:

ET65 vs Reaper

Reaper vs Celestion G12 H30

Reaper vs Reaper HP

and I liked in every case the Reaper.. I had a nice full and lively sound and top end sparkle to it the others lacked.  The HP sounded better for full on high gain which is not my thing.

My only concern is whether it being 30w, it would break up early in a Blues Junior even though it is quite a high sensitivity speaker. I'm looking for a reasonable amount of clean headroom + a little hair to be pushed with a tubescreamer type pedal.

Cheers !

Several folks have put Reapers in Blues Juniors ... here is what they report:

Great sound!  But ... the large magnet on the Reaper ends up almost touching the output tubes!  So, proceed at your own caution! (The ET65 is a medium magnet speaker and fits better).

Oh, and a Reaper 30 will handle the amps 15 watts ever so easy!
