When ordering through WGS, I never gave Alnico a thought.  Why spend more $??

I have another brand model Alnico and the tone is ABSOLUTE heaven.  It's not as gritty as ceramic.  And the ceramic, in fact, does do it's job well.

But when you play through Alnico, you say to yourself, "THAT'S THE SOUND I'VE BEEN MISSING!" due to the fact that I imagine countless quality recordings have been made through Alnico speakers.

Right now, I have two 4X12s and two 2X12s.  I have no interest in another Cab.

But if I do, I would definitely entertain Alnico.

Any suggestions?  I'm actually worn from combining speakers, so a 2X12 Alnico set may be what the Dr. ordered.

Oh heck yea ... if ya can afford Alnico, it's great!  Alnico has a special way of smoothing out the top end ... especially with gain.

A REALLY nice juicy combination is the Blackhawk with a Reaper or Reaper HP ... or of course, two Blackhawks!

Personally, I'd choose a Blackhawk over a Black-n-Blue even with a low-watt amp ... it's bottom is firmer, it's top is delicious, and you won't blow it if you decide to put it in a bigger amp!

Blackhawk HP ... too stiff unless it's really driven.

G12A ... very bright and blackface "fendery" ... but with the smooth hint of Alnico!

A G12A/Blackhawk cab might be sweet ... never tried it ...
