Vaughn,

I am interested in purchasing a 12" speaker for an external cabinet to use with an Allen Amps Sweet Spot amplifier. The Sweet Spot is an upgraded "Princeton" amplifier with eighteen watts of power and a 12" speaker. The amp currently has an Eminence Red, White, and Blues speaker. I am interested in other tonal possibilities when using an external cabinet with the amp and have three questions:

(1) What would be your best recommendation for a 12" ceramic speaker

(2) What would be your best recommendation for a 12" alnico speaker

(3) Which would be your number one pick - the ceramic or the alnico

Gotcha! So the Red, White, and Blues is a pretty darn loud and in your face tone ... so in the ext cab, I'd go for some organic sweetening.
My #1 choice overall would EASILY be a Blackhawk HP, which is what I use almost exclusively in my own Vaughn Skow 1x12 combos (www.VaughnSkow.com). Soooo sweet! Tight, firm, yet generous bottom, beautiful vocal mids, and the sweetest top end ... perfect.

In a Ceramic, I'd go with a G12 C/S ... it's loud enough to not be overcome by the RW&B, and will add a bunch of thick, tweed-tone warmth.
