Hey Vaughn,
I'm looking to build a Nashville style Tele. I like the specs of your Velvet Tele pickups but only want the bridge pickup. What Strat pickups would you recommend for middle and neck to go with the Velvet bridge, if it is possible? And what would be the cost of all 3?
Thanks,
Robert

I think I got with you on this ... correct?

No, I haven't heard from you on this . Maybe it was someone else. I did have a question about a speaker for a PRS Sonzera amp in Dec. and you got with me on that but not about the pickups.

Gotcha ... Wow, I've been building so many "Nashville Tele" sets these last few months, I guess I need to make them a stock item! Here is what I tell folks:

I've been making a bunch of 3-pickup "Nashville Tele" sets for pros here in Nashville, and yes I do go with the Vaughn's Velvet set for Neck & Bridge ... there are several options that work well for the middle.

1) A Historic 1954 (Formvar/Alnico III) for maximum complex harmonics and overtones ... and the ultimate "Straty" beauty and glassy chime when combining the middle with either the bridge or neck pickup.

2) Vaughn's Velvet Alnico 2/5 Strat, for a perfect blend with the neck and bridge ... a bit bolder, but not quite as glassy, complex, and "nice" in-between positions.

3) The Historic 1959, for a little bigger more in your face tone, especially when just on the middle pickup ... very nice Ventures surf tone, for instance.

I've gotten rave reviews on all the above combinations ... but the '54 A3 middle has really been making folks gush with props ... and I love that :-)

Since it's not a regular production offering, email me for pricing, build time, etc.
