Hello, I've recently acquired a Victory V30 amplifier, which I'm very happy with. I'm located in Newfoundland and our dollar is bordering on worthless at the moment. So, I'm planning to build a pair of 1x12 cabs to go with my new amp, rather than paying crazy exchange rates to the man.

I'm tentatively looking to design one of the cabs based on the Forte 112 cabinet, and have the other as a simpler semi-open back design.

Victory recommends their 1x12 semi-open back Vintage 30 cabinet for this amp, and so I'm thinking I'll buy a Veteran 30 for the Forte-inspired cab, but I'm not sure which to pair with it. I've heard the best pairing for that speaker is the ET-65, but I just want to make sure that's the best pairing for me before purchasing. I'm finding the amp very bass-heavy with my borrowed Traynor 1x12 cab, which has a Vintage 30.

I play mostly rock, blues, and country, with occasionally some fusion and heavier stuff. Unless it's a bigger club, I'd likely only take one of the two cabs to a gig (and would choose which one I'd take depending on the genre of the evening).

Would the Veteran 30 /  ET-65 combo be the best for me? And would you recommend a certain cabinet design (open/closed back, ported, etc.) for them?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I hear ya ... your low currency value is hurting us all ... nobody from Canada is buying my pickups right now because of the dismal exchange rates!   Soo ... I feel your pain ... but I'll also say you are blesses to live in one of the most beautiful places on earth!

Anyway ... I'd go with a RETRO 30 instead of the Vint 30 ... for the added chime.   And then, yes pair it with the ET65!
