Hi,

I have found a few threads asking suggestions for Laney Cub but I was not convinced that those users seek the tone I am after.

This is a 1x12 open back combo, housed in a quite small box (I will build a larger cabinet for it at some point but it ll still be 1x12) that has a sound in between Marshall and Vox. It is not as jangly as Vox and not as harmonicly overdriven as Marshall. It has got quite nice tone controls so I can dial in some good tones from it most of the time.

I have to mention, I am almost never a high gain player. I use I am looking for a speaker that will not get in the way when it comes to deliver the tones of SRV, Hendrix, John Mayer, BB King, and Gilmour. I am 100% aware that it takes more than just the speaker to deliver that, that is why I said " one that will not get in the way".

I hope someone can suggest something.

Not familiar with that model ... but ... Laney's are generally a bit overly bright ... so, combined with a small cab ... I'd say the ET65 is the best choice.
