I just purchased a Marshall DSL40C 1x12 combo, and I'm finding the ultra gain channel to be a little harsh (treble-wise) and fizzy. What would be a good speaker to alleviate some of this? I'll be playing various types of rock (AC/DC, Guns n Roses, Black Sabbath, Styx, Foo Fighters, Muse, Etc...).

First thing you should do is  the C19 capacitor removal that helps alot on removing the ice pick high's!

you will still have high's but alot sweeter and much more controled.  Removing the C19 only affects the ultra gain

red and not the green channel crunch..

I use to set my presence control to 0 and my treble control to  9 O'clock

I cut the C19 of the circuitboard and not only sounds better but the switching from green channel to the red is much more

balance and even out.

I now set my treble and presence to 12 O'clock and its sweet! and awesome..

After the C19 removal, looking at what your shooting for, I would go VET30,Invader 50 or the British Lead 80 and maybe the HM75! You should also check out the video clips on Liberator 80 and the invader 50 that WGS did.

Mind came with creamback 65,sounds good but NOt my kinda thang! for the kind of style that the band I'm in, it might boil down to Liberator 80 or the Invader 50. highly recommend C19 removal..
