Hi,

I'm looking for a speaker for my 50w Hiwatt 1x12 open back combo. Based on reviews/clips I'm leaning towards the ET65, but since the Hiwatt's power output is known to be very conservatively rated (50W clean, but close to 80W when cranked) I'm a little affraid I would toast the speaker. I usually play the amp clean and use pedals for lead tones, but would the ET65 withstand occassional 80W peak?

Thanks a lot,

Martin

Since the WGS speakers are ALSO rated conservatively ... I believe you would be just fine with the ET-65.  However, if you think you might keep the amp on the bleeding edge much of the time, you might want to go with an ET-90 to be extra-safe!

Thanks Vaughn - that's exactly what I wanted to hear :)
