Hey guys. I'm a new member of the forum and a long time lover of WGS speakers. I'll soon be investing in the combo amp listed in the title, and I've heard things on other forums saying the sheffield speaker that comes factory doesn't do the amp justice. I got a chance to sit down with one at my LMS for about twenty minutes and I agree. I can't say I have any real complaints about the sheffield.. but i do feel like the amp could breathe better through a more suited cone. So, naturally my first reaction is check out WGS. I'm hoping someone can tell me what kind of speaker would sound better then the sheffield. I've got many other amps for my chimey cleans, so you can guess what kind of music I'll be playing on the peavey. Put it this way.. I could've gotten a valveking or a classic 30 if they had enough gain for what I plan on playing. Anyways, I'll be (probably a year or so) later doing the combo to head mod on this amp and running it through either my 2x12 (Vet 30 loaded btw!!) or I'll end up DIY-ing a 4x12 for it. But in the mean time I want my ears to be happy!! Thanks all, WGS rocks!

I replaced mine with a ET-90. Sounds great, but I don't use a ton of gain either. The speaker takes pedals a lot better then the Sheffield that was in it. Really mellowed out the amp but it's new and hasn't been broke in yet. I am liking what I'm hearing though. I also replaced the stock tubes with some jj's and it really helped with the note bloom.
