I just got my hands on a really nice "Vintage" Peavey Deuce VT series amp. It is a 2 x 12 and is rated at 120 watts.

The current speaders are not the original, they are Olson Big Rock Speakers from Akron, Ohio. I never heard of them and they sound pretty muddy.

I am not expert, but based on the amps wattage, I was leaning toward a pair of British Leads or ET90s due to the power they can handle.

However, I am not sure which of these, or even another option may be my best choice and do the amp justice.

Any advice or suggestions is really appreciated.

Thanks!

Mike

Would have came with Scorpions or Black Widows originally ... anyway, I have a buddy who loves his Veteran 30's in his (and it is very nice) ... personally, I'd go with Retro 30's ... they'll have no problem with the wattage.

Thanks for the advice.  As far as sound/tone, what would be the basic difference between the  Retro 30's and the British Leads?

It would mainly be for blues, rock, hard rock...not really metal.

Thanks again
