This pairing is great. Retro gives thickness, the Hm75 gives bass, and both are articulate. No muddiness. No shrill. It makes my Avatar cab focused, deep and clear. Im really happy with the sound quality Ive experienced with WGS Speakers. I think this combo is not represented enough in the forum. If you are playing with a lot of gain this will hold up great.

I couldnt agree more. Im using this same speaker pairing in (2) oversized Seismic Luke 2x12 cabs in an X pattern. I couldnt be happier. Cleans are punchy with just the right amount of sparkle. Crunch is focused and cuts through. High gain is definitely where these come alive though. They will shake the floor...and cut right through the mix...tight as hell. They did have to grow on me a little. There was a little break in time....and I think the speakers I was using before were not reproducing the frequencies the WGS's were. So I had to re-dial in my rig. Once I found the sweet spot though...I was a believer! Retro 30's / HM75's definitely have my vote for best hard rock/metal speaker combination from WGS.
