Hello all,

I have a question about speaker rating and power handling, directly relating to WGS Speakers.. I currently run a vinatge Marshall 4x12 with a nice set of 30 year old GT12-75's paired with two WGS Reaper HP 50 watters. I'm going to downsize my rig to a 2x12 cabinet for a while, so I want to use one Celestion 75 and one Reaper, I'm using a 100 Watt Marshall Silver Jubilee, now I know that the most regarded math is to go 1½ (150%) watts of speaker power above the amp wattage, but in a thread I found in this forum from years ago, it said that WGS speakers are rated at the correct wattage to handle the power generated by the amp (ie, 2x50 watt Reapers = OK for 100 Watt head) Can anyone confirm or clarify? If so according to that I could use a 75 watt Celestion with a 50 Watt WGS and still be safe at 125 watts? Of Course I don't want to blow a speaker, but I'm more worried about it taking out an OP transformer... If it matters, I play loud rock... No dirt or boost pedals, but I run the preamp pretty hard..

Thanks for any/all help.
