going by the tone chart and audio samples i think veteran 30s and HM75 X pattern in a 4x12 would sound amazing!
the v30s would cover the mids while the HM75 covers the lows and highs. i play technical death metal with my
peavey 6505 btw. opinions on this speaker mix?
Yea, that would probably work ... but I'd suggest the Vet 30s be paired with British Leads in x-pattern ... the Brit Leads just knock the crap outta the HM75s (IMHO)
Hey Vaughn. I posted a question a few weeks back seeking your opinion on mixing British Leads and Vet 30's. You hadnt tried the combination and couldnt offer a solid recommendation at that point. Just wondering if you have since had a chance to try a Vet 30 / British Lead mix. I ended up pairing the Vets with ET90's by the way. Sorry for the hijack. Seemed like the perfect thread to post my inquiry.
Yes ... sort of ... a buddy loaded a Randall 2x12 combo, can't remember the model, but it was voiced very high-gain British. Long & short, in that open-back combo, it rocked HARD. That britt lead is a mother ... he also tried a HM75 with the Vet ... but the BL ate it for lunch.
