Hey,

I have a modded Blues Junior 3 (the Tweed Edition with a Jension C12N) and I am currently considering a speaker upgrade for vintage tone (in the direction of John Mayer, SRV, etc.). From what I read here so far there are three popular replacements:

1) ET-65

2) Reaper HP

3) Reaper

What concerns me is that all three are considered as "british"-style speakers, whereas I am looking more for a classical american tone. Hence, the G12C/S or even the G12A might be also an option? Any ideas? From the tone samples that I heard on YouTube I also liked the Reaper a lot but it would be good to have an opinion how it matches with the Blues Jr.

Cheers from Germany

I have the same amp with the Billm basic mods, and I can definitely recommend the ET-65. The C12N is just too strident for my tastes no matter what amp is pushing it.

Hey Ted!

I can definately recommend the et65 for those tones you are after!

I own a 68 custom deluxe reverb and the et65 delivers exsactly what i want for srv and mayer tones!

Yep ... I've long recomended the ET-65 in BJ's (do a search) ... and they simply can not be beat!
