My current speakers are Celestion Vintage 30s and I find the ice-pick highs to be terrible. The amp is already pretty bright so I need something to tame that. I'm not interested in "modern" or high gain tones, just a classic rock tone. I was thinking about the Green Beret. Would this get me closer to taking the DSL into more "vintage" territory? Or should I go with the Invader 50, which is I believe a 50 watt version of the Green Beret? Is there there a tonal difference in the two or mainly the security of more wattage with the 100 watt head? Or should I check out another speaker altogether?
